HTC is rolling out Android 4.4.3 update to it's New HTC One M8
devices in India. The carrier update which is
already live has improvements for the camera and
the BoomSound speakers. In addition, the update is
enabling 4G LTE support to the One M8 devices.
HTC launched the HTC One M8 in India very recently,
it came with a price tag of 50,000 +.
The device did
not prove to be the best seller in the market but
it managed to make good sales and return some
profit to the company.
HTC now focus on it's budget Android Phone Users. It's launched a New Phone price Under 10,000 Rupees. HTC new Launched in it's Desire Models called Desire 210 dual SIM, is the latest budget smartphone in India.
The smartphone market is a confusing place. On
one hand you have the ever-increasing screen
sizes of top-of-the-range models, such as the
huge 5-inch Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy
S4 , as well as monstrous phone/tablet hybrids
such as the Asus FonePad and Samsung Galaxy
Mega .
On the other, you have some brave 4-inch
holdouts, such as the iPhone 5, and the trend
started by Samsung with the Galaxy S3 Mini
compact versions of larger handsets.
Now HTC
has launched its own diminutive version of the
range-topping HTC One , the One Mini, which
goes head to head with the Samsung Galaxy S4
Mini .
While we appreciate smartphones with huge,
high-resolution screens, we're also fans of
smaller displays. Smaller screens mean smaller
handsets which are easier to slip into your
pocket, are more comfortable to hold when
talking and are much easier to use one-handed.
However, we were worried that mini phones
would also have mini specifications, leading to
handsets that are pale shadows of their award-
winning bigger brothers.
Fortunately, while the
cheaper HTC One Mini has some corners cut
compared to the Ultimate award-winning One,
it's still a seriously impressive phone in its own
right.
The One Mini is a good-looking phone. We like
the silver chassis and white sides, and even the
plus-sized speaker grilles at the top and bottom
of the phone work with the design, making it
look pleasingly skinny. It also has a metal rear,
which we prefer to the plastic of Samsung's S4
Mini.
A metal chassis is always a winner
The screen has 1,280x720 pixels, which is plenty
for its 4.3in size. The display has a pixel density
of 341ppi, which is significantly higher than the
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini's 275ppi and is even
slightly sharper than the iPhone 5's 325ppi.
The screen's high pixel density makes text sharp
and clear, and means the One Mini is fantastic
for web browsing. It's possible to read text on
web pages when fully zoomed out, which is not
really possible on the S4 Mini without squinting.
We were also impressed with the image quality
from the LCD screen. Whites are pure and blacks
are deep, and there's little sign of graininess.
This is in contrast to the Galaxy S4 Mini's
screen, which has a blue tinge and visible grain.

HTC has expanded its Desire range with the
unveiling of a new mid-range smartphone, the
Desire 310.
HTC had on Wednesday temporarily listed the
new smartphone on its European site without
pricing and availability details. Soon after, the
HTC Desire 310 page on the site was pulled, and
is currently still down, with no word on the
global rollout of the device.
The HTC Desire 310 is company's first
smartphone powered by a MediaTek chipset, the
quad-core MT6582M clocked at 1.3GHz. The
dual-SIM smartphone features a 4.5-inch display
with a resolution of 480x854 pixels.
The HTC
Desire 310 runs Android 4.2.2 out-of-the-box,
while there is no word on BlinkFeed feature on
the device.
It comes with 512MB of RAM and also includes
4GB of inbuilt storage, though there is no
mention of expandable storage in Desire 310. It
sports a 5-megapixel rear camera, while there is
a VGA front-facing camera. The HTC Desire 310
comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, EDGE,
GPS and 3G connectivity options.
The
smartphone packs a 2000mAh battery and
measures 131.44x68.03x11.25mm.
The HTC
Desire 310 was first spotted by PhoneArena .
Earlier, HTC introduced a new mid-range
smartphone, the Desire 400 dual-SIM which was
listed on company's Russian and Ukrainian sites.
The HTC Desire 400 dual-SIM runs Android Jelly
Bean OS with HTC Sense UI on top featuring
BlinkFeed. However, it's not clear at this stage
whether the OS version in the Desire 400 dual-
SIM smartphone is Android 4.2 or Android 4.3.
The HTC Desire 400 dual-SIM as the name
suggests comes with dual-SIM functionality and
supports micro-SIM instead of regular SIM.
It
comes with a 4.3-inch WVGA display with a
480x800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a
quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor
along with 1GB of RAM, according to the Russian
site, which also lists an 8-megapixel rear camera
with LED flash and BSI sensor, apart from a 1.6-
megapixel front-facing camera.
Most of the MT6582 powered handsets are
priced well under Rs. 13,000. Let’s see if
HTC can come up with a competitive price
tag.
HTC Butterfly s

HTC's just pulled back the proverbial
curtains on the Butterfly s at its
Taiwan launch event .
It'll arrive
boasting a familiar-sounding 5-inch 1080p
display, front-facing BoomSound stereo
speakers and Sense 5 as expected .
When it comes to internals, the
Butterfly s runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly
Bean on a quad-core 1.9GHz
Snapdragon 600 (faster than the HTC
One), an impressive 3,200mAh battery,
quad-band HSPA/WCDMA radio, 2GB of
RAM and 16GB of built-in storage,
expandable once again through microSD.
As for imaging, alongside that primary
UltraPixel camera and Zoe software
features, there's a 2.1-megapixel wide-
angle shooter on the front. It's
currently scheduled for a July release
in Taiwan, Not known in India but it wiill be
released soon in India, the expected price will
be as 42,000/- Indian Rupees,
but
there's no word when (or even if )
it'll reach foreign shores.

HTC One is definitely one of the most attractive
and desired smartphones of the modern age. It’s
most appealing aspect is definitely the full
aluminum build, as well as the front facing
stereo speakers.
The phone carries a certain
innovative aura which is further emphasized
once you reach into its software. Android has
become a beast of a platform, allowing some
seriously impressive and ingenious features to
be built into phones running it. The HTC One,
being a flagship top end device, comes with a
decent set of these hidden features which are
there to make your experience with the phone
even better. It’s nice to see such an impressive
list of added features which are put completely
out of the way, never obstructing your working
space or limiting the amount of content you see
on the screen.
Taking screenshots
This feature has only recently become available
by default on Android phones. Back in the day
you had to install a third party application to get
this, and were often linked to the camera
shutter key. In this day and age, you can long
press on home and power button
simultaneously or you can hold on to the power
button and the volume down button . On the
HTC One you will notice a neat little animation
to let you know that the screenshot was actually
taken. By default, the captured screenshot will
be saved in the default screenshot folder right
on your phone, under Images: \.
Beam me up, Scotty!
You’ve probably encountered several websites
with this feature – basically, once you reach the
end of a long page, you’d want to quickly return
back to the top where you’ll often find function
buttons, allowing you to do something else. For
those really long pages where you would need
to flip the screen multiple times, you can simply
quickly tap on the notification bar area once and
you’ll be pulled back right on top of the web
page or any other menu within the operating
system.
Quick launch bar customization
Plenty of people are wondering about how to
customize those quick launch bar icons. It’s
really simple to do it, though – you won’t be
able to put any applications or icons from the
home screens, yet you need to go into the
application drawer segment. From this area you
can drag and drop icons from and to the quick
launch bar. This bar will remain the same in the
lock screen segment as well so you may want to
put those most common applications and
functions here, to gain quick access.
More applications listing in the app drawer
Over time, you’ll definitely accumulate a nice
assortment of applications. In order to have a
clean overview of these, you’d want to condense
your app drawer so that you can see more of
your applications at a glance. To do this, access
your application drawer, pull it from the top
down and you’ll see a menu icon. Tap on the
menu icon and select the 4×5 format on the grid
size option. You will now have 20 application
icons to look at in a single glance.
HTC Zoe toggle
HTC Zoe is one of my personal favorite features
about the HTC One’s camera. It allows you to
record quick 3 second videos with audio. In
order to do this, access your camera. You will
notice an icon on the middle left part of your
screen. Press this icon and you will activate HTC
Zoe. Now, when you push on the capture photo
icon you will instead record a short 3 second
video. This is actually quite handy for those
quick takes of something in motion. Since the
HTC One captures great quality video, you can
easily use this footage for later editing and
extract the best still photo from the video
stream.
TV control
One of the features found on the HTC One
which is often swept under the rug is its IR
blaster. With this little device you basically gain
access to a universal remote control, with which
you can control whichever device. This feature
works best with flat panel LED displays and can
easily be programmed to control your television,
as long as it’s a supported model. You can use
the default TV application found pre-installed in
the HTC One, even though there are some third
party apps. I’ve found the built-in app to work
seamlessly, so you can give it a try.
Slow motion
video recording
In order to record slow motion
video, the
camera needs to boost up the frame rate as far
as it can go. HTC One’s camera is quite a
capable one, with the ability to record 1080p HD
videos. For slow motion video recording, the
device will automatically reduce the resolution in
order to bump up the frame rate as much as
possible. In order to record a slow motion video,
open your camera application; go to options –
scene and select the slow motion video recording
option . You can also accelerate the video
recording process which isn’t as impressive as
slow motion recording. Find Us On Facebook
